A row has erupted in Tyrone over the appointment of the county minor football manager.

The Irish Daily Star reports that outgoing boss Mickey Donnelly was put forward for another year by the top table.

He had added All-Ireland senior winners Ryan McMenamin and Brian McGuigan to his backroom team but a number of clubs objected to his re-appointment and, when it was put to the floor, Donnelly lost out by five votes.

County Executive members believe that a two-thirds majority may have been required to force a change and are seeking clarification on the issue from Croke Park.
