Darren Hughes and Conor McManus have had the black cards they received against Tyrone and Armagh respectively rescinded.

Hughes was one of three players black-carded by referee Eddie Kinsella in the closing stages of the Ulster SFC quarter-final against the Red Hands, with Dermot Malone and Darren McCurry also sanctioned.

O'Neill County ace McCurry's appeal against his black card has also been successful, but Malone's appeal was rejected.

Monaghan also opted to appeal the black card shown to All Star attacker McManus by Joe McQuillan during Saturday night's drawn semi-final against the Orchard County.

The Central Hearings Committee ruled on Wednesday night that it too should be rescinded.

While getting the cards rescinded has no immediate benefit, it could help the teams in the long term as a player who tallies up three black cards will be banned for one game. In the case of Hughes, he picked up a black card in the dying seconds of the Division Two final against Donegal.
