Beat Down and league will be forgotten - McNeice

Paddy McNeice says Tyrone's league disappointment will be forgotten if they defeat Down in the Ulster championship.

The Red Hands were disappointed not to reach the semi-finals of the NFL after failing to win either of their last two games against Cork or Dublin, but McNeice knows a victory over the Mourne County on May 18th would be the perfect tonic:

"It was disappointing to not make the last four to say the least because we got to the final last year and our aim was to get to the final this year and to win it, but unfortunately it didn't happen," the Coalisland clubman says in The Irish News.

"But the heartening thing was how we fought right to the wire against Dublin. The slow start just killed us.

"But, look, everybody forgets about the league when the championship starts.

"As long as we get over Down and progress to the next round of the Ulster championship, then what's the difference what happened in the league?"
