Ronan O'Neill admits Tyrone have taken great encouragement from last Sunday's thrilling comeback against Cork.

The Red Hands came from four points down with time running out to salvage a draw, with O'Neill landing the equalising point from a free in injury-time. Now he's hoping they can show the same fighting spirit against All-Ireland champions Dublin on Sunday as they strive to secure an Allianz League semi-final place.

"We have shown we have that confidence and that character, that when things go wrong, we can look back on the Cork game, when we dug deep in the last 10 minutes and boys stepped up to the mark," he explained to the Irish News.

"Hopefully, we won't need that against Dublin, but if it is called upon, we have the boys to step up and do it.

"After we played Mayo and Kildare, we were being tipped to be All-Ireland winners, but the next day against Kerry we were told we were done. It hit us hard, but we had to prove the doubters wrong. No disrespect to Westmeath, they are Westmeath, and they're not the same calibre as Mayo or Kerry or Cork.

"So we had to show a marker and put the Kerry thing behind us. When they (Cork) got the second goal, we didn't lie down. We kept plugging away."
