Tyrone boss Mickey Harte says his team felt “confident enough” that they would overturn a five-point deficit in the second-half of yesterday evening’s Super 8s clash against Cork.

The Red Hands went in at the interval trailing the Rebels by 2-4 to 0-5 at Croke Park before second-half goals from Cathal McShane and Peter Harte (penalty) turned the tide to cement their All-Ireland semi-final berth.

"We knew at half-time that the game wasn't beyond us," Harte told BBC Sport after the three-point victory.

"We have been in worse places before and got out of it so we did feel confident enough that we could do it.”

He added: "We had to change the style of play and attack the game more. All of these changes and all the things you do in this game of management, there's an element of gamble in them.

"If they come off and you win then people thinks it's wonderful, and if they don't then you're not so wonderful."
