Urney St. Columba's - Club Notes

June 25, 2019

ADULT (Daoine Fásta):

There were no adult fixtures this weekend owing to Tyrones involvement in the qualifiers. Next up is a trip to Greencastle scheduled for 7th July.

YOUTH (An tAos Óg):

Our under 14 girls will take part in the league final this Saturday 29th June in Clanabogam (Drumragh) throw in tbc. Best of luck girls. Why not come along and show your support in the final.

Last Thursday night the under 14 girls were beaten in the semi final of the championship by Clan na Gael. Hopefully this weekend they can get the better of Clan na Gael.

Under 16 girls. Any young girls who are interested in playing under 16 this year must attend a meeting on Monday 1st July at 7.30pm. This is applicable for any girls from 1st year up. If you would like to play but can't make the meeting please let Veronica Mcmenamin or Carolanne Elliott know. If anyone is also interested in helping out at this age level please contact Veronica.

Our under 12's began their season with a defeat at home to Owen Roe's but they showed great fight and spirit and with a little more training under their belts they should improve greatly. Training continues Monday at 7 and Thursday at 7. Keep an eye on Facebook for fixture details.

Training for our under 6, 8,10 & 12's continues on Thursday night again from 7. We would also encourage any parents, club members or adult players to lend a hand, as the more help we can get the better it is for everyone.

Youth membership can be paid to Cathal McGowan at youth training on Thursday night. Family - £50, Under 6 - £10, Under 8 to Under 16 - £20. Forms are available and must be filled in.

Urney hosted local sides, Newtownstewart St. Eugene's, Owen Roe O'Neill Leckpatrick, Clann Na NGael Gac and Strabane Sigersons GAA, last Saturday at Pairc Naomh Columba in an under 10 blitz. Perfect weather ensured a great mornings football for everyone involved.

With over 20 under 10's Urney were able to put out 2 sides and ensure as much football as possible for everyone.

A special thanks to our coaches and mentors, everyone who helped with refreshments after and those that provided refreshments, the referees and also the parents, who's continued support is much appreciated.

If you or your business would like to sponsor equipment for our youth or adult teams, please contact the Facebook page or Veronica McMenamin.

Congratulations to Club youth player Conor Langan who is currently playing with the Tyrone u14 development squad. Well done Conor and keep up the great work.
