Adult Football;

Our Senior men travelled to Stewartstown on Friday night and came away with a draw, the game ended 1-15 apiece, Sigersons started well with Marty Mongan grabbing an early goal but Stewartstown hit a purple patch which took them in four points to the good at half time. After the break the home side extended that lead to 1-13 to 1-7 but Sigersons fought back with great spirit scoring seven of the games next eight points leaving the scores 1-14 apiece, Marty Mongan put Strabane ahead before Stewartstown levelled with seven minutes remaining.

 

Warner Mullen top scored for the Sigersons with 0-8, Marty Mongan notched 1-1, Hayden McNamee scored 0-2 with Se Doherty, Sean Doherty, Mark Roarty and Ruairi McElroy all scoring a point each.

 

Senior Ladies;

 

Congratulations to our Senior Ladies who picked up their second win in a row against Drumquin on Sunday at home, the girls gave a brilliant performance yet again. This Sunday the girls entertain Kildress at home on Sunday at 7pm, All support is greatly appreciated.

 

Senior Ladies training continue every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm.

 

Youth Football;

Commiserations to our under 18 girls who were defeated by Cappagh in the Championship on Friday night.

 

Well done to our Under 10 Boys who travelled to Agyaran last Saturday to take part in a Go-Games Blitz, due to Communions and Confirmations numbers were down but the boys who made the trip put in a brilliant effort. The skills and techniques the boys have learned in their training has really paid off, they played three games and competed very well in them all. Thanks to everyone who travelled to help and support.

 

On Saturday the Sigersons Under 8 & Under 10 girls hosted a county blitz which seen somewhere in the region of 100+ children taking part. Children and coaches travelled from Dromore, Drumquin, Sperrin Oģ, Clann Na Gael and Badoney to display their skills. Thanks to all that helped out on the day, especially Liam Sweeney, Anna Mortimore and Ella Stewart for refereeing the games, and also the parents that supplied refreshments and assisted in any way.

 

Last Tuesday night U14 ladies defeated Beragh 9-14 to 2-3 in their last home fixture of the Grade 3B league. Playing in front of a large home crowd, Sigersons started the first half playing towards the golf club end against a stiff yet warm breeze blowing in their faces. This team has developed into a brave and determined bunch in recent weeks, which has taught them to persevere and keep digging deep to get what they deserve. This was a fantastic squad display this evening, it was a brilliant all round team performance with the defenders working hard to keep out the opposition and in forward line they were on fire. Congratulations girls on a great victory.

 

Coaching;

Club coaching officer Ciaran McLaughlin was present last Wednesday night to congratulate the club's 10 coaches who have undertaken their Foundation award coaching, Shauna Devine, Tina Crawford, Geraldine McGarrigle, Danny McCay, Adam McGinley, Oisin Kelly, Oran McGrath, Anton McGowan, Conor O'Hagan, Kevin O'Kane. Ciaran thanked all the coaches for their interest in the club and added the club's intention to develop all coaches to enable the club to coach all teams to highest level. Anyone else that is interested in coaching within the club get in contact with any committee member.

 

Congratulations;

Congratulations to Tyrone under 16 girls who won the Under 16B Championship on Saturday in Convoy against Donegal. A special mention to Marty Conway, Desi Friel and Donna Bogle who were part of the Management.

 

Congratulations to senior men’s player Dylan Arnold who passed out as a member of the Irish Defence Forces last Thursday.

Summer Camp Coaching;

Tyrone GAA are looking for quality coaches for football, hurling and handball to ensure our camps are a success. Any coaches who have completed their foundation level award and are actively coaching within their club’s youth programme and looking to work in a fun environment then we want to hear from you.

There will be an information and training evening held on Monday 10th June in the Tyrone GAA Centre in Garvaghy at 6.30 pm. Only those who attend this session will be eligible to work in the summer camps. All coaches are requested to bring suitable training gear as there will be a practical element.
