Urney St. Columba's Club Notes

ADULT (Daoine Fásta):

The fixtures for the 2019 ACL have just been released. Urney begin the season with a trip to Moortown on Sunday 31st March. The other fixtures have been added to the club Facebook page.

Senior & Reserve training schedule for this week is as follows:

Monday 11th March at Melvin Astro pitch from 7-8pm.

Friday 15th March at Melvin Astro pitch from 8-9.30pm.

We are also hoping for a friendly at the weekend, so details will be given out at training.

All current, new and returning players welcome.

YOUTH (An tAos Óg):

Under 14 boys season began last Saturday despite a battling performance the boys were narrowly defeated 7-8 to 6-7. Next up is a home fixture against Kildress this Saturday 16th March throw in is scheduled for 10.30am. All support would be greatly appreciated.
Minor boys played a friendly on Sunday afternoon in Aghyaran and came away with a victory. If you would like to play minor football this year please contact Ronan Lafferty or Matthew Neeson for more information.

Minor ladies training continues on Tuesday and Friday nights in Cutt Park from 7.


SUMMER CAMP (Campa Samhraidh):

Mark the dates on your calendar.... Tyrone GAA Summer camp in Urney from 15th to 18th July this year. Enrollment details will be issued as soon as we have them.
 

MEMBERSHIP 2019 (Ballraíocht 2019):

Another membership night was held last Friday 8th March. All members both previous and new need to fill in a new membership form to comply with GDPR. Anyone wishing to play football at any level must pay membership as this covers the cost of insurance, therefore if it is not paid you will not be insured.

Rates for 2019 as follows,

Adult players £30
Non playing adult £20
Youth £20
OAP £10
Family £50

NATIONAL CLUB DRAW (Ticéidí Chranchurr CLG):

Unfortunately we didn't have any winners but thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket.

This year’s Draw raised €1,624,480 for GAA Clubs nationally.

A full breakdown on the prize draw winners can be got on the Club Facebook & Twitter pages or on GAA.ie. Once again thanks to everyone who bought and sold tickets.


CHOSEN BY YOU PARTICIPANT:

It’s the last few weeks of this and we are asking for a final push, thanks to everyone who has voted so far.

At the end of the competition whichever of the three causes has the most tokens get a cheque for £500. The two runners up get £200.

Senior & reserve leagues are on the horizon and we are inviting businesses and supporters to sponsor the match ball for each senior game this season.

For a contribution of £50 sponsors will receive

- Photograph with senior player at your place of business or club grounds.
- Pinned Facebook/twitter post/Advert.
- Complementary entry for 2 adults to a home game of your choosing.

We still have a few games left and so sponsors will be selected on first come first served basis, so act fast.

 

GROUNDS CLEAN UP (Glanadh na Páirce):

On Friday 29th March we are hoping to get as many members, players and supporters available to lend a hand and help clean up the club grounds and clubrooms. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, even if it's only for a while. Any donations in terms of equipment or refreshments would also be very welcome.


LOTTO (Crannchur):

Thanks to all who promote, sell and organise our lotto. Special thanks to Gerard Foley, Pat Holland, Trent Langan, Aidan Langan and Carolanne Elliott our Lotto counters for March.
