Today’s All-Ireland Masters football final is a repeat of the recent Sam Maguire Cup decider between Dublin and Tyrone.
Dublin re-joined the Over 40s competition – which surprisingly isn’t sanctioned by the GAA – this year and have blazed an impressive path to the final. Managed by Val Andrews, their star performers include former seniors Shane Ryan, Ray Cosgrove, Peadar Andrews and John McNally.
Tyrone beat Sligo in the semi-final with Damian McCrory, Eoin Gormley, Damian Patton and substitute Mark Donnelly making big impressions. The final throws in at 3pm in Drumlish, Co. Longford and will be preceded at 1pm by the Shield decider between Mayo and Roscommon.
The 16 teams who competed in this year’s Masters competition were: Cavan, Westmeath, Galway, Monaghan, London, Kildare, Mayo, Sligo, Down, Clare, Tyrone, Donegal, Roscommon, Leitrim/Longford, Antrim and Dublin.
