Monaghan have failed to win in any of their last three matches that were broadcast live on RTE television.

In this year's championship, the Farney County have beaten Tyrone, Waterford, Leitrim, Laois, Kildare and Galway away from the RTE cameras. But the national broadcaster showed two of their matches live - the shock 1-8 to 0-10 defeat to Fermanagh in Omagh on June 3^rd and the Super 8s clash with Kerry, where David Clifford netted deep into injury time at Clones to snatch a lucky draw for the Kingdom.

Going back to last year, Monaghan's Ulster semi-final meeting with Down on June 24^th, which was aired live on RTE, culminated in a surprise win for the Mourne County. The Farney County subsequently defeated Carlow and Down before losing to Dublin in the last eight - all three of those games were on Sky. Their win over Wexford wasn't on TV.

Sky (who covered both of Monaghan's Super 8s wins this year) and RTE will both be showing Sunday's semi-final against Tyrone. Monaghan will be bidding to win live on terrestrial television for the first time since their Ulster quarter-final victory over neighbours Cavan on June 11^th last year.

Superstitious Monaghan fans therefore have three choices on Sunday: go to the match; watch it on Sky; or listen to it on Northern Sound!
