Mickey Harte wasn't getting carried with Tyrone's facile victory over Roscommon in Saturday's Super 8 opener.

The Red Hands are coming to the boil nicely ahead of the visit of Dublin to Omagh next weekend - a game which provides them with an opportunity to right the wrongs of last year's heavy All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Jim Gavin's men.

"This is only day one and there'll be different challenges for us next week and we have to see how we responde to them," the Tyrone manager said.

"We can't really say much until we meet the acid test - and the acid test is Dublin coming to Omagh next week.

"We didn't begin to perform as we felt we could do last year. We were on the back foot from an early stage of the game, therefore we didn't get to challenge Dublin the way we felt we might have been able to.

"So it was a damage-limitation job almost from early on. That's not a nice place to be in, knowing you're playing the best team in the country who have a march on you. You have to be careful then not to expose yourself to a complete write-off.

"It wasn't a good day and we have been reminded of that many times since."
