McGrath injured in club football game

Tipperary hurling boss Michael Ryan is sweating on the fitness of John McGrath after he suffered a hamstring injury in a club football match at the weekend.

The Irish Examiner reports that McGrath was forced to retire 10 minutes from the end of Loughmore-Castleiney's Tipperary SFC victory over Drom-Inch at The Ragg.

While Loughmore have played down the seriousness of the 2016 All Star forward's injury, it will nevertheless be a concern for the Tipp management ahead of the Munster SHC quarter-final against Limerick on May 20.
