Warm-weather training camps to go after this year

The GAA is to ban overseas training camps for inter-county teams from next year.
The Association will also limit the duration of Irish-based camps in a move aimed at keeping April free for club activity. How the rule will be enforced remains to be seen.
The crackdown comes after two counties - Laois and Armagh - were deemed to be in breach of Rule 6.22 of the GAA’s Official Guide - which stop county squads from taking part in training camps outside a 10-day period before a championship game - last year and lost home advantage for one of their games in this year's Allianz Football League.
A rule change at Congress means that counties now need permission from the CCCC to hold extended training camps here or abroad. Armagh have returned to Portugal this week after receiving permission from the CCCC.
"Let me be very clear and set the record straight on recent media reports regarding our senior county football team. In advance of any plans we contacted GAA Headquarters to seek permission for our senior county players to collectively train and this was subsequently granted by the CCCC,” county board chairman Michael Savage clarified in a statement on Wednesday.
