Keane unlikely to call on Crokes contingent

Kerry manager Peter Keane has hinted that he is unlikely to call up any of the Dr Crokes players for the Kingdom’s clash against Roscommon this weekend.

A win for Kerry at Dr Hyde Park guarantees them a place in the FL1 final, but even a defeat and chances are they will go through anyway.

Crokes’ club campaign came to an end last Sunday when Corofin beat them in the final at Croke Park.

However, it doesn’t look as if Keane will rush them back into the squad, hinting that they may be busy drowning their sorrows for a few days.

“We haven’t thought about it because you’re running from one game to another and you no sooner get over one and you’re on to another,” Keane told the Kerryman.

“I think I said this last Monday, you take most teams that play in an All-Ireland final, they probably – I don’t know would I use this phrase – cut loose a small bit after it so I don’t know.”
