Eamon McGee says fellow Gaoth Dobhair stalwart Kevin Cassidy is as fit as he’s ever been.

The former Donegal colleagues were in inspirational form as Gaoth Dobhair defeated Crossmaglen in Sunday’s Ulster Club SFC semi-final in Omagh and McGee points out that his 37-year-old clubmate is flying:

“I think we’ve had nearly 100 gym sessions this year and I’d say I’ve attended none of them,” he reveals in The Irish Daily Star. “Kevin Cassidy is in a different boat. He’s trained religiously and he is able to get out and do it. He is in unbelievable shape.

“Kevin is playing in a position where all you need is that wee brief spurt. He’s just tailored his training. He knows himself he’s not going to blast it out for long minutes out the field.

“We talk about retire, retire, retire for county lads but if the opportunity presents itself and you can train well and look after your body – look at Andy Moran and older lads – there’s no reason why you can’t operate at the highest level. Andy and Kevin are prime examples of that.”
