Cork's football and hurling teams will wear special commemorative jerseys over the next two weekends.

The black jerseys will honour the memories of Tomás MacCurtain and Terence McSwiney who died during the War of Independence 100 years ago.

A spokesperson for sportwear manufacturers O'Neills told CorkBeo that the one-off jersey will be worn for the first time by the hurlers in next Sunday's Allianz League game against Limerick at Páirc Uí Chaoimh. It will also be worn by the footballers when they host Derry in the Allianz League.

The Cork hurlers previously sported the county's original blue and saffrons colours in an Allianz League game against Kilkenny in 2016 to mark the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising.
