Liam Sheedy will  continue as Tipperary senior hurling manager for another year.

The news will be greeted across Tipp after he guided the Premier County to All-Ireland glory in his 'second coming' as manager two months ago. It means that there will be no repeat of 2010 when the Portroe man stepped down after winning the Liam MacCarthy Cup in his first spell in charge.

Tipp will seek to win back-to-back All-Irelands for the first time since 1965 next year and Sheedy is expected to have Tommy Dunne, Eamon O'Shea and Darragh Egan in his backroom team once again. The 49-year-old confirmed he was staying on at a fundraiser for the Patrick Keane Stem Cell Treatment Fund in Waterford yesterday.
