Kilmacud's Alex Considine claims possession ahead of O'Tooles' Eoghan Darcy

Kilmacud Crokes delivered a devastating second-half performance to see off O’Tooles on an emphatic 1-17 to 0-7 scoreline in the second round of the the Dublin senior hurling championship this evening at Parnell Park.

Having led by only four points (0-7 to 0-3) at the half, Crokes pulled away from their opponents six minutes into the restart when Oisin O’Rorke netted the game’s only goal.

That strike put the victors’ 10 points to the good and O’Tooles could only manage a couple of frees from Andy Morris to try and prevent what turned into one-way traffic from the resumption onwards.

Elsewhere in tonight’s other second round encounters in the capital, Cuala were convincing 2-27 to 1-16 winners over St Jude’s at Monastery Road, while Oliver Plunketts scored a 1-19 to 1-13 victory against Naomh Fionnbarra at Lawless Park.

In the later throw-in at Parnell Park, a hat-trick of goals from Colin Currie helped Na Fianna breeze by Faughs as it finished 3-19 to 2-7 in their favour.

Currie’s first major came inside three minutes and would be cancelled out on the 10-minute mark by Davey Croke as the victors took in a 1-9 to 1-4 lead at the half.

It didn’t take long for Na Fianna to find their groove again in the second-half though, as they had a 10-point lead built up by the time Currie found the Faughs' net for a second time and he’d add a third for good measure in the 57th minute.
