The return of Ross King to the Laois senior hurling squad represents a major pre-championship boost.

According to Laois Today, the talismanic O’Moore County man has returned to the county panel ahead of their Joe McDonagh Cup campaign.

Having sustained a nasty facial injury during last September’s Laois SHC final defeat to Camross, the The Rathdowney-Errill clubman announced that he would not hurl for Laois in 2019.

However, having sat out the league, he was reportedly back at training on Sunday and will be available to manager Eddie Brennan for the McDonagh Cup opener against neighbours Offaly over the second weekend of May.
