The Limerick Leader newspaper picked up the Provincial Media Award for its 'Limerick Leader Souvenir Edition - 2018 All-Ireland Champions: This Means Everything'

Limerick’s All-Ireland senior hurling champions have been named as 'Limerick People of the Year’ at the county’s annual People of the Year awards.

John Kiely’s team captured their county’s first Liam MacCarthy Cup success in 45 years last August when they dethroned Galway at Croke Park on a 3-16 to 2-18 score-line.

Kiely and members of the side accepted the award today in the company of all the nominees for the People of the Year awards which are organised by the Limerick Leader newspaper.

Among others honoured were the late Dolores O’Riordan, who was a recipient of the newly established Limerick Hall of Fame award, and Cervical cancer campaigner Vicky Phelan.
