Dublin hurling boss Mattie Kenny has confirmed that Conal Keaney will be available for selection next year.

Keaney suffered a shoulder injury at the end of the Dubs’ 2018 campaign and there had been doubts over whether or not the 36-year-old would return following the resignation of Pat Gilroy, who swayed him back this past season after two years in retirement from the inter-county game.

Speaking after his side’s recent Walsh Cup victory over Carlow, Kenny revealed that the Ballyboden dual star is on board with the capital men for 2019.

"Due to his club commitments, he didn't get a chance to address that shoulder injury properly yet,” Kenny is quoted saying by DublinLive.ie

"So he's going for surgery next week, which will take him out for a number of weeks. So that's his priority at the moment, to get that shoulder operated on and we'll get him rehab-ed then.”
