Donegal star Ryan McHugh may have played his last game in 2018 as he awaits the results of an MRI scan.

The former Young Footballer of the Year’s absence would be a massive blow to Kilcar as they look to retain the senior championship crown they captured last year to end a 24-year wait for the biggest prize in Donegal club football.

Speaking to The Irish News, McHugh said he was unsure of when he would be back in action and his hoping his club mates can do the business while he’s on the sidelines.

Last Saturday saw Kilcar defeating Milford by 2-15 to 2-6 to ensure their passage through to the competition’s quarter-finals.

“Your team mates always look out for you, that is great,” McHugh stated. “Hopefully I can be back later on in the season and hopefully the club can keep winning. There is no date set yet for the MRI scan as I am waiting for the doctor to get back to me.”
