Former Kilkenny star Eddie Brennan has been proposed as the new Laois senior hurling manager.
A selection committee charged with finding a successor to Eamonn Kelly put forward the eight-time All-Ireland winner's name to an executive meeting of the Laois county board.
If ratified, Brennan would replace Kelly who stood down from his post in June after two seasons in charge of the O'Moore County.
Brennan has managed Kilkenny's U21s for the past two years, guiding his native county to an All-Ireland final appearance against Limerick in 2017.
