Westmeath manager Michael Ryan has stressed that their performance against London simply wasn't good enough.

The Midlanders are set to face Kerry in their last league game this Sunday (weather permitting) and even though a place in the Division 2A final is in their grasp, Ryan stressed to the Westmeath Examiner that they need to improve if they are to gain promotion.

"Somehow there was a flatness about the team against London, we never got going and our enthusiasm and energy seemed to be lacking. That's something we'll have to look at," Ryan told the Westmeath Examiner.

"There is a lot of work to be done this week and it's probably more mental than anything else. We know we have to perform against Kerry and we have to get our heads right. We'll come out all guns blazing next Sunday and I think we'll see a different performance."
