Wexford forward Jack Guiney received some good news this week as he was told that surgery will not be required on his knee injury.

It had been feared that the Rathnure clubman would be sidelined for a few months if he needed surgery on a cruciate injury, but he revealed to the Wexford People that will not be the case.

"I should be back in a few weeks," Guiney stated. The news will be a boost to the Wexford management team as they have Lee Chin, Eoin Moore and Simon Donohoe amongst others sidelined at the moment.

Wexford top the table following last weekend's win over Clare and they will be hoping to kick on against a Kilkenny side they beat twice last year.
