Antrim hurling co-manager Dominic McKinley has called for Saffron supporters to turnout in force and be heard for this Sunday's crucial Allianz League clash against Limerick in Cushendall.

The Ulster champions have lost their opening three games of the competition to Galway, Dublin and Laois and currently sit bottom in Division 1B as they get set to welcome the league leaders this weekend.

"Obviously this match against Limerick is important for Antrim and we would like to see the players get as much vocal backing as possible," McKinley told the Belfast Telegraph.

"We knew going up into Division 1B was going to be tough and that's just how it has proved."

On the relegation system in 1B, which sees the bottom two teams taking part in a play-off, he added: "That's the way it is and we don't expect any favours from Limerick in the circumstances."
