Laois manager Eamonn Kelly has insisted that all his squad are being given the chance to impress.

Kelly revealed to the Leinster Express that they were playing as many games as possible to ensure players got the opportunity to impress during this early part of the season.

Having picked up their first win of the campaign with a victory over Antrim last weekend, Laois take on Offaly this weekend and Kelly is keen for the side to push on.

Before that they will play a challenge game and the players who didn't feature against Antrim will be afforded another chance to impress the management team.

"We've a midweek game every week against a good club side, and anyone that isn't hurling at the weekend will be hurling in midweek and they see that as their shop window," said Kelly.

"That's why some of those guys got a run against Antrim, because they showed well in that. Joe Phelan was outstanding in a game here last week, so we were happy to give him a shot against Antrim and PJ (Scully) will get his shot on Tuesday night."
