Tipperary's senior hurlers are set to take on Ulster club champions Slaughtneil this Saturday in Castleknock, Dublin as both sides get set to embark on their respective 2018 campaigns.

Michael Ryan's Tipp side demolished Laois in a challenge match last weekend, winning out by 3-27 to 0-12 in the end, and will again be expected to field an experimental outfit when they visit the capital.

For the second year running, Derry giants Slaughtneil find themselves in the business end of the All-Ireland club senior hurling and football championships after having successfully defended their provincial titles in the past two months.

Michael McShane's side are gearing up for a date with Munster and Limerick champions Na Piarsaigh on February 10th for the right to play at Croke Park on St Patrick's Day and will no doubt have a stern test in the Premier men.

Throw-in at Castleknock is at 2pm.
