O'Rourke is coolness personified

While all involved in Roscommon may have been panicking at half time, Rossies midfielder Tadgh O’Rourke never hit the panic button.

Trailing by five points at the break, many felt that Galway would push on and retain their title, but a storming second half by the Rossies saw them claim the title.

O’Rourke was instrumental in that comeback and he revealed to the Roscommon Herald that not panicking was the main reason they pushed ahead.

“There was never any panic, when you have 40 minutes to go out and play, why would you be panicking?” asked O’Rourke.

“There were only five points in it. We knew if we could turn it on around the middle eight, which we did, because that ten minutes just before half time wasn’t good enough.

“We weren’t getting on enough ball. We gave the lads inside that sniff in the second half and that is all they need.”
