Despite the club only month of April entering its last weekend, the Kildare SFC and IFC begin this weekend.

Two rounds of the championship are to be played over the coming weeks leaving just a fortnight for Kildare to prepare for their Leinster SFC opener against Wicklow on Saturday May 11th.

Much has been made of the club only month, but Kildare’s scheduling of championship games so late in April has certainly raised an eyebrow or two in the GAA community.

Kildare manager Cian O’Neill will be hoping that all his county players come through both rounds unscathed.

Already, Kildare captain Eoin Doyle is a doubt for the provincial opener after he damaged his hamstring in a challenge match against Roscommon last week.
