Leitrim’s Domhnaill Flynn believes the county’s supporters are playing their part in the impressive start to the NFL 4 campaign.

Three wins out of three have left the Connacht side sitting top of the table as we head into this weekend’s break.

Last Sunday at Pairc Sean MacDiarmada, there was a noticeable increase in the amount of Leitrim supporters at the game against Antrim.

And Flynn, who proved to be the match winner, told the Leitrim Observer that the supporters' cheers certainly helped.

“It is a clíche but it is an extra man and it is great when you have that home support, everyone encouraging you on,” said Flynn.

“Crowds are getting bigger, you do notice it – every time you get a turnover, any time you kick a point, anything like that, any bit of aggro going on, the crowd will be behind you and it is great to see it and great to hear the Leitrim chant going.

“They will start travelling now and it is huge for the lads. When you hear that roar, when you hear them roaring you off at half time and roaring you on after half time, it is huge.”
