Morgan making Swifts return

Niall Morgan in action for Dungannon Swifts

Niall Morgan will be back between the posts for Dungannon Swifts for tonight's League Cup semi-final.

The Swifts had a goalkeeping crisis on their hands ahead of the crunch clash with Linfield at Stangmore Park and Red Hands boss Mickey Harte has given Morgan his blessing to help his former club.

The 27-year-old shotstopper togged out for Dungannon five times last month, during the GAA close season, but had returned to the Tyrone fold ahead of the 2019 campaign and wasn't expected to feature for the local soccer club again this year.

But first-choice goalkeeper Alex Moore is ineligible for the game as he is on loan from Linfield and cannot face his parent club, while back-up custodian Stuart Addis is injured.

"Niall will play - it's a one-off and we are grateful to Mickey Harte and Tyrone for releasing him for this game," Swifts boss Kris Lindsay confirmed to The Belfast Telegraph. "He has obviously played in a few games this season and Mickey has thankfully allowed him to play on Tuesday night."
