Rhode joint-manager Declan Gorman admits that a trip to Aughrim is a daunting task as the Offaly champions turn their attention to the Leinster club SFC.

Following the capture of their 28th county title, Rhode are no strangers to playing in the provincial championship and their experience will be invaluable.

Gorman told the Midland Tribune that they will need all that experience when they take on the Wicklow champions which will be either Rathnew or St Pat’s who meet in the county final replay on Saturday week.

“Wicklow is a notoriously tough place to go. We were down there 12 or 13 years ago against Rathnew. It was a very hard place to go,” said Gorman.

He added: “We will get the heads down and start thinking about it. It’s great to win a county title but we want to push on. The Leinster is something there that we haven’t got over the line with, and we would love to give it one more rattle with this group of players.”
