Mullinalaghta’s David McGivney admits that they are determined to give the Leinster club SFC a good go this year.

Following last Sunday’s replay win over neighbours Abbeylara, they now turn their attention to the Leinster club for the third year running.

In fairness, to the Longford champions, they have done reasonably well in their last two outings in the provincial campaign.

The Longford champions are not in action until November 11th when they will face the winners of the Wicklow champions (Rathnew or St Pat’s) or Offaly’s Rhode.

This means they have plenty of time to prepare for the Leinster club and McGivney stressed to the Longford Leader that they will give it their all.

“Hopefully, there is a run in us this year,” stated McGivney who was awarded the man of the match award in the county final.

“It’s the best competition we have been part of as a team and going forward we would definitely like to get a run in the Leinster club.”
