A foot injury is threatening Eamonn Brannigan's participation in Galway's Connacht SFC quarter-final against Mayo next month.

The wing forward suffered the injury while playing for his club St. Michael's in a recent league game and was seen on crutches at yesterday's in-house game between the Galway 'A' and 'B' teams in Killerenin.

Galway can ill-afford to be without Brannigan for the eagerly-awaited local derby clash in Elvery's MacHale Park on May 13. He was one of the stars of their impressive Allianz League campaign and scored the only goal in the famous fourth round victory over Kerry in Tralee.
