Maguire to skipper Rebels in Allianz League

Ian Maguire will captain Cork in their upcoming Allianz Football League Division 2 campaign.
The St. Finbarr's midfielder will deputise for Paul Kerrigan, who is battling to be fit for Nemo Rangers' All-Ireland club SFC semi-final against Slaughtneil next month.
"One of the reasons we picked Ian is because of his competitive spirit and great determination. Some fellows just have captain material and are natural leaders without too much effort. Ian falls into that category," new Cork manager Ronan McCarthy told the Evening Echo.
Maguire will captain the Rebels for the first time in next weekend's Allianz League opener against Tipperary.
