Clare manager Colm Collins is predicting a bright future for two of his newcomers.

Eimhin Courtney and Conor Finucane have both impressed during the McGrath Cup which saw the Banner County lose out in the final to Cork courtesy of a late goal from the Rebels.

Collins is firmly focused on the league and he admitted that it is going to be a tough campaign where a defeat or two could end their hopes of promotion.

"They are excellent forwards and when they get a sniff of a chance, they put it away. It was excellent stuff from them," Collins told the Clare Champion.

He added: "We're totally focused on January 27th and our first game. We're not even thinking past that. We have to approach every game in the same way. You could quite easily see any of the teams in it either going up or going down.

"Hopefully, there will be good football in it. Kevin (Harnett) is the only one we have to draw a line through. He had an operation on his shoulder and it's going to take time to heal. We'd hope to have all the rest of them back."
