Connacht FBD League round-up: Rossies and Tribe prevail

Galway and Roscommon got the better of Sligo and Leitrim respectively in the Connacht senior football league tonight.
The Tribe beat the Yeats County by 1-12 to 0-11 in an entertaining encounter played in difficult conditions at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence.

Sean Kelly's 27th-minute goal proved to be the decisive score, helping Kevin Walsh's charges take a double-scores interval lead, 1-7 to 0-5. With Adrian Marren in inspired form, Sligo never gave up but Galway held on in the howling wind.
It was way more straightforward for the Rossies as goals from Diarmuid Murtagh and Finbar Cregg eased them to a resounding 2-14 to 1-3 victory over Leitrim at Annaduff, with Brendan Gallagher netting a consolation goal from a penalty.
