Clare manager Colm Collins says he's confident that he'll have Gary Brennan, Eoin Cleary and David Tubridy back at his disposal before the end of the month.

The Banner men kicked off their new season on Saturday with a dominant McGrath Cup victory over Waterford in Dungarvan, where Conor Finnucane (0-8) and Eimihin Courtney (0-5) were impressive in the front lines in the absence of Cleary and Tubridy.

The pair will get a chance to impress again on Sunday week when Clare travel to take on Mallow in Cork.

"They're two excellent finishers and anything they got on, they punished," Collin told the Irish Examiner. "Gearóid (O'Brien) is very dynamic in the middle as well and got his just rewards for a lot of hard work. Alan Sweeney has worked exceptionally hard and was a good outlet at centre forward.

On his returnees for the opening round of the National League in Ennis, he added: "We hope to have everybody bar Kevin Harnett available for the first game of the league, which is as good as we could hope for. The focus is on Cavan on January 27."
