New Derry senior football manager Damian McErlain has received 'a huge boost' with the decision of the experienced Mark Lynch to commit to his panel for 2018.

The 31-year-old is named in a 29-man squad which has been unveiled by new Oak Leaf boss McErlain.

"To be honest, his decision was immediate," McErlain revealed to DerryGAA.ie.

"He's a central figure for us, a presence and a real leader to have around the panel."

Derry are due out in McKenna Cup action on Wednesday, January 3rd and securing promotion from the Allianz FL Division 3 will be one of their main priorities.
