Cyril Donnellan raises the Liam MacCarthy Cup
Galway forward Cyril Donnellan has announced his retirement from inter-county hurling after 10 seasons with the Tribesmen.
The Padraig Pearses clubman was part of the squad which claimed All-Ireland SHC honours two months ago with victory over Waterford at Croke Park.
In his 35 championship appearances, he notched 6-33 and scored 0-5 in Galway's first ever Leinster success in 2012 when they overcame Kilkenny. The now 32-year-old also has a pair of National League titles to his name.
His championship debut came in 2008 under Ger Loughnane and while his appearances were limited this past season, Donnellan would be part of the match-day 26 for September's unforgettable win against the Deise men.
