Tipperary Ladies Football Under 12 Championship Finals

Rockwell Rovers GAA Club, New Inn was the venue for six clubs to compete for three County Tipperary Ladies Football Under 12 Championship titles on Sunday last.

The opening game of the day was the Under 12D Final where Moycarkey Borris (2) competed against Slieve Felim Raparees in a tightly contested Final. Both teams battled hard for the ball in the opening minutes of the game and having been denied an early goal due to a square ball when the opportunity came again Aoife Shelly made no mistake in rattling the net for Moycarkey Borris. The next score of the half went to Slieve Felim Raparees finishing the game at half time Moycarkey Borris 1-0 Slieve Felim Raparees 0-1.

Both teams were now settled into the game and the second half had a mix of scoring but as always goals win the games. This was the case for Moycarkey Borris when Aoife Shelly and Shauna Flanagan raised the green flags and Megan Kelly sealed their scoring with a point. Slieve Felim Raparees added a further goal to their score line finishing the game Moycarkey Borris 3-1 Slieve Felim Raparees 1-1.

In the Under 12 C Championship Boherlahan overcame St. Patrick's on a score line Boherlahan 5-4 St Patricks 1-4.

The Under 12 B Championship Final was the highest scoring game of the day but Clerihan's ability to overcome the Cahir goalkeeper meant that the title headed to Clerihan after the game finished; Clerihan 4-1 Cahir 0-10.

Siobhan Condon, Tipperary Ladies Football Secretary presented the cups to the winning captains, thanking each club, players, mentors and supporters for their dedication to the sport. She also thanked the referees who successfully oversaw the games. A special mention goes to Rockwell Rovers who provided Tipperary Ladies Football with their excellent facilities for day.
