Tipperary Ladies Gaelic Football Notes

TIPPERARY U14 TEAM
The Tipperary Ladies Football Under 14 team travelled to Portlaoise GAA to compete in the All Ireland U14 Blitz on Saturday last. Two Tipperary teams travelled competing in Division 1A and Division 2B. In Division 1A Tipperary were accompanied by Cavan, Cork A, Dublin A, Mayo and Roscommon while in Division 2B Tipperary's opponents were Donegal B, Down A, Kildare B and Laois. 

Games started promptly at 10.40am for Division 1A with Tipperary A competing first.  They started strong with a win over Roscommon and Cavan. However, Cork A proved too strong for them losing by just two points. Their final two games against Mayo and Dublin A were victories for the County enabling them to finish second in the group. 
Tipperary A team - Nicola O'Dwyer, Dervla Heffernan, Aine Hahessy, Eimear O'Connor, Ellie Ryan, Caitlin Kennedy, Marie Creedon, Orla Winston, Ruth Butler, Ava Fennessy, Niamh Ryan, Ciara Dwan, Angela McGuigan, Lucy Spillane, Rachael Sweeney, Niamh Martin, Emma Morrissey, Emma Ryan, Una Carew, Louise Norris, Rosanna Kiely, Alice Ryan, Eimear Boland, Aisling Ryan.

For the Tipperary B team Kildare B were their first opponents who were the stronger team but Tipperary overcame that loss with victories over Down A, Laois and Donegal B.
Tipperary B team - Megan Tynan, Dearbhla Morrissey, Megan Heffernan, Kayleigh Flannery, Carrie Davey, Alison Connolly, Michelle Cronin, Bronagh Bergin, Niamh Roche, Allanah English, Ciara Morrissey, Roisin Condon, Shannon Morrissey, Caoimhe Mulcahy, Robin Carey, Grainne Hennessy, Sarah O'Connor, Ellie Peters, Leah Fitzgerald, Niamh O'Meara.

Well done to the two panels and their management team of Ed Burke, Gareth Byrne, Tony Smith, Frances Ryan and Mary Murphy. Best wishes to the U14 team who will travel to Stradbally, Co. Waterford for the Replay of the Munster U14 B Championship Final against Waterford on Sunday, May 24th at 2.00pm.


TIPPERARY LADIES FOOTBALL LEAGUE
On Saturday last the Senior League Final and Junior A League Final were played.  In the Senior League Final Brian Borus overcame Aherlow in Fr. Sheehy Park, Clogheen. Visitors Clonmel Commercials overcame Templemore in the Junior A League Final held in JK Brackens GAA.
On Sunday evening Cahir defeated visitors Galtee Rovers in the Tipperary Ladies Football Intermediate League Final in Duneske.
Well done to all the clubs involved in reaching the Finals and thanks to all the grounds who provided us with the facilities.  Next weekend the Junior B and Junior C League Finals will be played.


TIPPERARY POST PRIMARY SCHOOL BLITZ FOR UNDER 14's
Rockwell College hosted the Tipperary Ladies Football Blitz for Under 14's last week with a number of Tipperary Schools in attendance; St. Ailbe's Tipperary Town, Rockwell College, Cashel Community School, Our Lady's Templemore, Presentation Thurles, Scoil Ruain Killenaule, Presentation Ballingarry, Patrician Presentation Fethard and Scoil Mhuire Carrick On Suir. Loreto Clonmel, St. Anne's Tipperary Town and the Ursuline School Thurles all had 2 teams.

The Ursuline School Thurles were victorious in the "A" final, Ursuline School Thurles 6-3 St. Anne's Tipperary Town 3-1. In the "B" final Our Lady's Templemore overcame St.Ailbe's Tipperary Town. The Ursuline School Thurles featured in the "C" Final as well defeating Loreto Clonmel on a scoreline of Ursulines B 3-3 Loreto B 0-3.

MUNSTER LADIES FOOTBALL FIRST YEAR POST PRIMARY BLITZ
Mallow GAA Club was the venue for the Munster Ladies Football first year post primary blitz. This was attended well with 41 teams from Munster in the blitz, 5 of which were from Tipperary. Tipperary was represented by the Presentation School Ballingarry, St. Ailbe's Tipperary Town, Our Lady's Templemore and Presentation Thurles who brought two teams. Well done to the students and teachers who travelled with the teams, a great day was had by all
