Shane Curran's prediction that Roscommon would win the All-Ireland U21FC title if they beat Tyrone came back to haunt him last night.
The colourful former St. Brigid's and Roscommon goalkeeper told his twitter followers after Tipperary had dethroned Dublin yesterday afternoon that the All-Ireland would be "all over" if the Rossies did the business against Tyrone. But, as we all know now, that didn't happen.
In fairness to Shane, he later conceded that the "better team won" and could take consolation from the fact that his beloved Arsenal beat Reading to reach the FA Cup final.
At a time when inter-county players run the risk of receiving a ban if they say something controversial on social media, it's refreshing to see GAA personalities like 'Cake' continuing to speak their mind, even if it means having to eat humble pie from time to time!
