Tipperary have added the logo of their charity partner; Dogs Trust to this year's All-Ireland hurling final jersey thanks to the generosity of their sponsor ŠKODA.
The logo appears on the back of the jersey above the number and will give Dogs Trust valuable brand exposure during the All-Ireland final, helping to raise awareness of a very special, yet underfunded organisation.
As Ireland's largest dog welfare charity, Dogs Trust aims to reduce the number of stray dogs that are destroyed in Irish pounds each year and helps to educate the public about responsible dog ownership. Since opening its state of the art rehoming centre in Finglas, in 2009, Dogs Trust has helped save the lives of over 4,000 stray and abandoned puppies and dogs.
Raymond Leddy, Head of Marketing & Product, ŠKODA Ireland said; "We are delighted to see Tipperary back in an All-Ireland final and we are happy to give Dogs Trust the opportunity to display their logo on the Tipperary jersey on the biggest day in the Hurling calendar. The Dogs Trust team rely on funding from the public and we want to be able to raise awareness of this great cause. We appreciate the support of the Tipperary county board on this and we wish the players, management and the county board all the best ahead of the game."
Mark Beazley, Executive Director, Dogs Trust added "We are very grateful to ŠKODA and the Tipperary county board for giving us the opportunity to use our logo on the back of the Tipperary jersey for the All-Ireland final. The blue and gold jersey is worn with pride by Tipperary players and fans alike and we are delighted to be able to a part of this experience on All-Ireland hurling final day. Fundraising is crucial to Dogs Trust as we re-home over 1,500 rescued and abandoned dogs each year yet we receive no government funding, so the help from ŠKODA and the public is hugely appreciated."
Dogs Trust has just opened a new puppy wing extension, caring for an additional 500 abandoned puppies every year. If you wish to donate to Dogs Trust - text PUPPY to 50300 to donate €4 or visit: www.dogstrust.ie/giving/donations/makeadonation
