Donal Og Cusack believes Darren Gleeson gave the greatest ever display of tactical puck-outs in yesterday's All-Ireland SHC semi-final.
Speaking on The Sunday Game, the former Cork goalkeeper said of the Tipperary custodian: "Darren Gleeson gave the greatest display of tactical puck-outs ever seen... I want to put it on record: it was the greatest display of puck-outs ever, but the Cork defending was poor."
Like all Cork supporters, Cusack was bitterly disappointed with the team's display, saying it was akin to men against boys.
"I was leaving the stadium and a man came up to me and he said it was men against boys and it was pretty hard to argue against that. Tactically we were out-witted, physically we were dominated in almost all of the exchanges and skill wise Tipperary blew us off the park," he continued.
"The third quarter has such a big impact on the result of games and Tipperary came out in the second half and totally blew Cork away. You could have argued at half time that Cork weren't in a bad position; they hadn't played great, they had missed a lot of points - eve frees - and yet they were only a couple of points down."
The two-time All Star also questioned why the Cork county board are prepared to invest €70 million in redeveloping Pairc Ui Chaoimh rather than on underage coaching.
"Cork are investing €70m in a stadium… a centre of excellence? There's two fields there how could that be a centre of excellence? If I was a club person I'd be looking to review that, that's going to turn out to be a centre of mediocrity," he blasted.
"I actually think it's a monument that's being built rather than a centre of excellence."
