Club action aplenty this weekend

July 31, 2014
Attention turns to the club front this weekend with a flurry of activity taking place around the county.

There are a total of 13 senior hurling championship games going down for decision as well as three matches in the county senior football championship and three IHC ties.

The County Board has spread the action out across the weekend from Friday night until Sunday afternoon, but has opted not to fix any games for Bank Holiday Monday so as to afford the Tipperary hurling team a full fortnight to prepare for their All-Ireland semi-final meeting with Cork.

The hurling action begins with the meeting of last year's beaten finalists Nenagh Eire Og and Roscrea in Moneygall on Friday evening at 7:30 and concludes with Killenaule V Upperchurch-Drombane in Boherlahan at 2:30 on Sunday. There are eight SHC matches on Saturday!

All in all, it promises to be a feast of club action but Eamon O'Shea may have a few sleepless nights as he keeps his fingers crossed that the county contingent comes through unscathed.
