Peter Creedon paid tribute to the Tipperary supporters after his side's thrilling All-Ireland SFC Qualifier victory over Laois.

With their hurlers playing Offaly afterwards, there was a large Tipp following in O'Moore Park to will the footballers to a win that had looked in jeopardy after the home side had come from 10 points down to draw level with 12 minutes remaining.

"The support was brilliant," enthused Creedon whose improving team will now meet beaten Connacht finalists Galway for a place in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.

"The atmosphere in the last quarter of an hour fed through to the team. I can only compliment Tipperary fans for coming as today highlighted the skills of both Laois and Tipp and that's what you pay your money for."

The most pleasing aspect of Tipp's performance for Creedon was the fact that they didn't panic when the pressure came on.

"There was a lot of hurt after the Cork game and we showed that bit of patience, a bit of composure (today).

"No doubt the experience (of losing to Cork in the dying moments) would have helped alright, but maybe the right people got on the ball at right right time as well and that helps."
