Tipp's Quinlivan to miss out

Michael Quinlivan has been ruled out of Tipperary's Munster SFC clash with Kerry.

The Premier County travel to Killarney on Sunday to open their 2013 championship account and manager Peter Creedon has confirmed that Clonmel Commercials attacker Quinlivan is not in contention to feature.

An All-Ireland winner with the Tipperary minors in 2011, Quinlivan made his SFC debut in the corresponding fixture last year, notching two points as the Kingdom advanced on a 0-16 to 0-10 scoreline.

Quinlivan injured his ankle during the winner-takes-all NFL Division Four meeting with Offaly at Tullamore on April 7th.

He tried to defy medics by subsequently playing in the Munster U21 football final despite the injury and is now unavailable for Sunday's key trip to Fitzgerald Stadium.
