The hard work paid off for TJ Reid and his Ballyhale Shamrocks club-mates in Croke Park today.
The sharpshooter delivered eight points in a ‘man-of-the-match’ display as the Kilkenny standard-bearers maintained their grip on the Tommy Moore Cup against Borris-Ileigh.
“Back-to-back didn’t mean anything all year,” he said in a post-match interview with TG4’s GAA BEO.
“Obviously today was just to win and the records will follow.
“It was a hard, tough year but the dedication and character from all these players, the desire, the work-rate all year, training over Christmas. It’s all worth it here today.
“Seeing both parishes, Borris-Ileigh and Ballyhale Shamrocks up here in Croke Park in January, it’s a special moment.”
